Dayton Dutch Lions FC facing Oklahoma in key game

Dayton, OH, July 25 2014 – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC (5-13-2, 17 points) are facing newcomer OKC Energy FC (6-5-8, 23 points) this Saturday July 26 at 7.00pm at DOC Stadium. It is the only game between the two teams this year but will be a crucial one if the Lions want to keep their chances alive to make the play-offs this year.

The Lions have struggled at home all year and with 4 home games remaining Head Coach Sid van Druenen said some things needs to change this weekend to keep the play-off dreams alive: “with eight games to go in the season we are still looking to get our first home win and Saturday we have another opportunity to give our fans the joy of a win. Despite the winless season at home until now, the unconditional support of the Oranje Legion has been fantastic and we want to give them the win that they deserve. We have not played Oklahoma before so it is hard to say what to expect, but besides our tactical plan we simply need hard work from everyone and perhaps it’s time to give some guys a chance that haven’t gotten many minutes this season.”

In other news, all Columbus Crew players saw game time this week with the Columbus Crew in their friendly against Crystal Palace. Brazilians Matheus and Beckham are still out due to injuries.

After the game the Lions play the Harrisburg City islanders again at home at DOC Stadium on Saturday August 2 at 7.00pm. Tickets for the game can be purchased at www.ddlfc.com.
