DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC have signed midfielder Nixon Dias to a one-year contract. The Dutch experienced pro player recently played for ADO Den Haag and Exclsior Maassluis, and before that he played for the Premier League Club Sparta Rotterdam in The Netherlands.

Nixon: “I am a 32-year old midfielder, and soccer always comes first in life. Not only the adventure attracted me to take off to the USA, playing professional soccer and creating a team within a squad is my goal."

What are you known for as a soccer player?
Nixon: “On the pitch I’m a creative midfielder who aims to score. But I'm also known for creating a positive and winning atmosphere amongst my team mates. I’m strong in insight and bringing about regularity during the game. I communicate a lot with the other players, and my strongest point is that I can make a difference in front of the goal, cooperating with the attackers.”
Why did you sign with the Dayton Dutch Lions FC?
Nixon: “I chose to take the transfer because of the personal development and adventure. I'm looking forward to working with Head Coach Ivar van Dinteren, since I've known him for about 20 years, with pleasure. I believe we can build something strong and positive for the coming season, playing in orange."

Nixon: “A hard working player, who wants to win at all times. I believe I can connect easily with the American soccer mentality. The strong and diligent activity on the field is what triggers me as a person and as a soccer player. I hope to bring the Dayton community many pleasures with my soccer skills and way of playing.”
