Dutch Copier and Bartels USL Pro

DAYTON, OH – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are proud to announce the re-signing of Dutch 2011 defender Mettin Copier and signing of Dutch striker Gerrit-Jan Bartels for the 2012 USL PRO season.

Austrian/Dutch native Mettin Copier (left), re-signed his contract with the Dayton Dutch Lions FC. The left footed left central defender has played for FC Oss, Telstar and AZ Alkmaar, before he contracted DDL FC in 2011. Copier defended the orange Lions 19 times last season, and wrote down 1 goal and 1 assist as a defender.

Well-experienced and talented forward Gerrit-Jan Bartels has played for, among others, First Division club Go Ahead Eagles. Both players have just arrived in Dayton to start the pre-season with Head Coach Ivar van Dinteren.

    DDL Soccer Complex

    All practices and games of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men’s team (USL PDL) and Women’s team (USL W-League) will be at the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Soccer Complex in West Carrollton. The stadium seats 3500 people. In 2014 the Dayton Dutch Lions FC and Dayton Outpatient Center (DOC) installed an new artificial turf field in the stadium. DOC Stadium was opened in May 2014 when former 2x “FIFA Best Player in the World” Ruud Gullit kicked off the game against LA Galaxy II in the USL PRO League.
