DAYTON, OH — Dayton Dutch Lions FC owners Mike Mossel and Erik Tammer signed a contract with Derick Bendickson and Steven Sarver of Jess Construction yesterday to start working on 4 top notch grass fields of the new Dutch Lions FC home at West Carrolton High School. The signing took place at West Carrolton High School with Rusty Clifford, Rob Dement and Jack Haag.

The project will start next week and according to Derick Bendickson of Jess Construction the project will consist of 4 phases once all materials are ordered the coming week:

Phase 1: major excavation  to put the drainage system in place

Phase 2: stripping and subgrading

Phase 3: put in the irrigation system

Phase 4: finish grade. elevation of the fields, put top soil in and seeding the fields

On April 27 the owners of the club will put the first shovel in the ground at the West Carrolton High School to officially start the groundwork of the Dutch Lions FC youth academy grass fields. The whole project should be finished in 2 months and the fields should be ready for the new Academy season in August.

If the weather cooperates the fields will be officially opened by a scrimmage between the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men's professional team against West Carrolton High School. The WC team will consist of current players and alumni. The game will be the start of an annual event between the two organizations.

President Mike Mossel commented on the project: "We have been looking for a home with good fields since we started 2,5 years ago and with the new location we don't only get great exposure as a club, but the fields will be one of the best in the region with top grass (like they have in the Columbus Crew stadium), drainage, irrigation we can use ourselves and also the opportuinty to cut the grass short, which is critical for the development process of the players."

"Again, the school has been great to work with and I am confident that soon we will also renew the astro turf field in the stadium." On the choice for Jess Construction he had this to say: "The school district has worked with Jess Construction before and were very pleased with their work. In the first meetings I have seen their professionalism, eye for detail and above all Derick and Steven have been great. I am very confident they will do a great job".
