Dayton Fights Charlotte With Earman and Whisenhunt

DAYTON, OH — The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are on the road to play the first 2012 USL Pro game fighting the Charlotte Eagles in North Carolina. The Lions are strengthened by two more defending players, defender Michael Earman and goalie Corey Whisenhunt.

Both coming from Dayton, Wisenhunt and Earman feel huge connection and determination to help the pro team get to the next level.

Michael Earman

25-year old Earmen is known for several awards, such as the Davis Award. He garnered Millis Scholar Athlete and Big South Presidential Honor Roll accolades for his performance in the classroom over the past four years. As a captain for the men’s soccer team this past year, he helped the team to its first ever winning season as a Division I program. He was a four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was part of the NCAA Gender Equity Committee. Tonight he will battle the Eagles in orange.

Corey Whisenhunt

Young 23-year old Whisenhunt is a huge talent who played for Wright State University and the Cincinnati Kings in the PDL. The American goalie is known for his saves and recorded shutouts in, among others, the Horizon League, against Valparaiso and posted a shutout win at Loyola with eight saves, had six saves against IUPUI and assisted the tying goal. Whisenhunt also recorded shutout at Alabama A&M, and the brand new Lion is ready to get on the pitch and use his experience and talent in the USL Pro season for the DDL FC, starting April 13th.
