Forward Priestley Last USL Pro Signing

DAYTON, OH — The Dayton Dutch Lions FC proudly introduce the last asset to the USL Pro Team 2012. Jamaican forward Akeem Priestly has played international pro soccer, and is the creative player that Dayton was still missing.

The former player of the Los Angeles Blues was signed right before the first pro game of this season. Priestley already performed 88 minutes for the Lions, and contributed to the 0-0 draw, which was a good result after having a very short pre season.

Priestley was an instrumental member of the Jamaica Under-17 and Under-20 youth national teams from 2002-2005. In October 2004, Priestley made his senior national team debut versus Guatemala in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The Jamaican played his college career in the United States at Jacksonville University and also at the University of Connecticut. He was an All-Big East 2nd team selection in 2008, and also lead University of Connecticut to the 2007 Big East title.

Akeem Preistley was even drafted by Kansas City Wizards in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft (50th overall). Priestley later signed with Jamaican club Harbour View and transfered to the Los Angeles Blues for the 2011 season.
