DAYTON, Ohio — The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are looking to bounce back from last week’s tie against the Richmond Kickers, with Bulows making the game 1-1 after a penalty kick was given to Richmond in the 92nd minute. The Blues are currently 1-2-1 while the Lions are 0-2-2 and looking for their first win of the season.
DDL FC looking for revenge
Although last week’s tie against the Kickers felt like a loss Head Coach Ivar van Dinteren was happy with the performance of the team: “we did not give a way any chance against good opponent (Richmond Kickers) and same as our game against Rochester Rhinos the week before our organization has been good. We also scored our first goal (Gibson Bardsley) last week which gave a big boost to the players. After 4 games we know we can play any team in this League and our guys are hungry after seeing this the last 2 games against good opponents. Los Angeles Blues is another very good team we will face this Friday and although they are right with us at the bottom I feel they have a lot of quality and should be with the top 4 teams in the League. Therefore I am expecting a high level game for the fans where we will need to stay very organized again and be aggressive but also not fear to put pressure on them and hurt them while keep playing our passing game.”
The Dayton Dutch Lions FC is currently 0-2-2. After this weekend’s game they go on the road for back to back games against the Rochester Rhinos (May 18) and Harrisburg City Islanders (May 19) and returning at home May 26 against Rochester Rhinos for a doubleheader with the Women’s team.
