DDL FC facing old rival in second round

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are facing Chicago Fire in the second round of the US Open Cup. The game will be played at Toyota Park practice fields next to the stadium. The game is at 6pm CT.

The Chicago Fire PDL team beat the Croatian Eagles (USASA) in the first round with a 1-0 score. The team consists of a lot of young talents and is playing in the PDL League. The DDL FC played in the same League in it's inaugural year in 2010, beating them both at home and away. The Lions will be coming home from a two game weekend trip playing undefeated Rochester Rhinos (May 18) and Harrisburg City Islanders (May 19) returning the 20th to travel to Chicago 2 days later.

President Mike Mossel had the following to say on the game: "it is very unfortunate that we for the third year on a row we have to play away again. It would be nice to have a US Open Cup game for our home fans but I guess you need to deserve it as well so we need to win games. The Chicago Fire has always been a talented team and I am expecting the same this time. We will have to show them we play a Division higher and that we come for one thing and that is to win and play the third round at home. "

In case the Lions win they will play the 3rd round at home. The schedule for the UOpen Cup is:
