Free Coaches clinic with former World Cup Dutch National team player

The Dayton Dutch Lions are offering a free coaches clinic with former Dutch National Team player Bryan Roy. Bryan Roy played for Ajax Amsterdam (Dutch Eredivisie), Foggia (Italian Serie A), Nothingham Forrest (English Premier League) and Herta BSC (German Bundesliga).

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are bringing Bryan Roy as the first SFA World Star to Dayton.

Bryan Roy (42) is known as one of the worlds best left wingers ever with great skills. He was a left forward that came up through the youth system of Ajax Amsterdam being taught the fundamentals of the the “Coerver” skills at a very young age. He made his debut for the first team of Ajax under Dutch Legend Johan Cruijff in 1987. Roy played 6 years with the highly talented group with players like Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, Ronald Koemen, Dennis Bergkamp, Edgar Davids, Gerald Vanenburg, Frank and Ronald de Boer and Patrick Kluivert.


Roy also played 32 times for the Dutch National Team including two World Cups (90 and 94) and one European Championship (92) scoring 9 goals in total. In 93 Roy was transferred form Ajax to Foggia in Italy. From 94 to 97 he played for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League of England. From 97 to 00 he played in Germany for Hertha BSC in Berlin, finishing his career for NAC Breda in Holland in 2001. Roy is currently a youth coach for the reserve team of one of the most prestigious academies in the world: Ajax Amsterdam.


The Clinic


The coaches clinic will start with a short presentation at the Dutch Lions FC office in Bellbrook. After this presentation we will go the field to see some of the drills and coaching from the famous Ajax Academy. The clinic is Saturday July 21st and starts at 2.00PM and ends at 4.00PM. We request all participants to be at the Dutch Lions FC office (8 E Franklin Street, Bellbrook, Ohio, 45305) no later than 1.50PM. The clinic is completely free of charge. Please don’t forget to bring you cleats!

    All practices and games of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men’s team (USL PDL) and Women’s team (USL WPSL) will be at the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Soccer Complex in West Carrollton. The stadium seats 3500 people. In 2014 the Dayton Dutch Lions FC and Dayton Outpatient Center (DOC) installed an new artificial turf field in the stadium. DOC Stadium was opened in May 2014 when former 2x “FIFA Best Player in the World” Ruud Gullit kicked off the game against LA Galaxy II in the USL PRO League.
