Dayton Dutch Lions FC does not get well deserved point in third game in four days

Richmond, July 21 2012 - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC played their third game in four days traveling from Wilmington to Richmond Friday night to play the Kickers in front of 1500 spectators. The first game at home ended in 1-1 after Richmond got a penalty kick awarded in stoppage time. Although the Lions fought hard and were close to a tie several times Richmond forward Matthew Delicate scored the 2-0 in the 90th minute, again by a penalty kick to give Richmond the win.

Richmond took the lead in the 11th minute when Ryan Heins scored off a saved shot from Sascha Goerres that Williams was able to stop but not cleared. The Lions came close to scoring 1-1 twice when Garner and Bardsley both had a run in the penalty box but were stopped. There were not too many chances in a very even second half besides a goal from Gorres that was called for off side and a foul in the Richmond penalty box but a pk was not given. The Lions brought extra forwards Holowaty and Bartels for the last 15 minutes but they could not score anymore, it was Delacate who sent the Lions home with no points in the 3 day road trip.
