2012 Assistant Coach Sid van Druenen taking over position of Head Coach in 2013

Dayton, September 3 2012 - After their second season in the USL W-League, the Dayton Dutch Lions FC announced their Women’s Head Coach for the 2013 season. Sid van Druenen brings 11 years of coaching experience with him and was assistant coach of the Dayton Dutch Lions Women’s team in the 2012 season. He has worked with the club since November 2011.

President Mike Mossel stated: "We want to put more emphasis on the Women's Program. A part of that is building partnerships with local colleges and players to field a strong team but also be more involved in the community year round. We are currently playing in the highest Division in the USA and have a lot to offer to women that want to play at a top level in the summer. I believe Sid has proven himself off and on the field as a coach and he is very committed to building a strong Women's Program, not only the top team but from the bottom up through all age groups.I am very confident that he will do a great job".

Sid says to be very motivated for this challenge and his biggest goal is to build a successful DDL Women’s program combining good soccer with good results: “after being assistant coach for one year in the strong USL league I learned a lot about the competition and the reality of this League. I am already scouting at all the local colleges, and working on bringing in some European International players, for the 2013 season. With the goal of combining their experience with the local talent and in that way have a solid base to build on for a successful 2013, and upcoming seasons”.
