Van Dinteren nominated for USL Pro Coach of the Year

Tampa, September 5 2012 - Today the USL Pro League announced that DDL FC Head Coach Ivar van Dinteren is nominated for Best Coach for the 2012 season. This coming Friday before the Championship game between Wilmington and Charleston the League will announce the winner.

The nominees are:
Adrian Heath, Orlando City
Mark Steffens, Charlotte Eagles
Ivar van Dinteren, Dayton Dutch Lions

President Mike Mossel on the nomination: "first I like to congratulate Ivar for his passion for the job and the club. He really has put his heart into the team and club for three years now and every year he has shown that he is very capable of developing a team. If we look at the second half of the season and played like that the whole year we would have made the playoffs. We had a great run in the US Open Cup beating the Columbus Crew and going into the fifth round only to loose against Kansas, who won the Cup eventually. But I also like to thank Jack Hermans and Patrick Bal for assisting him and doing a great job. Same with the whole staff behind the team, including our great partners from Dayton Sports Medicine. I hope we can built off the second half of the season towards next year."
