Pro team try out is a success

Pro team try out is a success

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC held their second tryout for their men’s USL Pro for the 2013 season on Saturday, February 2, 2013.  Late Friday, snowy weather threatened to force a cancellation of tryouts since the turf field of the Miami Valley School was covered in snow.  With a little luck and some late day scrambling, the Dutch Lions’ staff were able to find a suitable indoor venue at Hara Arena.  Coaches contacted all registered players and in spite of snow-covered roads and frigid temperatures, 65 registered players from places such as Brazil, Germany, France and all over the U.S. arrived to showcase their talents in hopes for a spot on the 2013 roster.

The day started off with a presentation by Coach Patrick Bal and was followed by a series of several short games. The players then enjoyed delicious deli sandwiches and salads sponsored and provided by W. G. Grinder’s located at Town and Country Shopping Center in Kettering, OH.
