Coach Bal reflects on 2nd week of preseason

Dayton Dutch Lions FC wins all games in 2nd week of pre season

Dayton, April 15 2013 - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC completed their 2nd week of preseason this weekend picking up their fourth straight win after a tie in the first scrimmage of the season. Coach Patrick Bal looks back on the second week of pre season.

"The second week was not as intense as our first week. We practiced less and focused more on the games. We played a good first half against Lincoln Memorial. The way we pressure and how we want to play in ball possession looked better and more organized. It was too bad that we only showed it for one half and not for the full 90 minutes. Two days later we played at Rio Grande and once again we showed improvement. With a lot of movement without ball and good pressure on the ball we locked in the opponent for 45 minutes. In the second half Rio Grande played with more pressure, but this time we showed we are able to play for 90 minutes in our style. It's just a friendly but winning 2 games so easily gives us a great feeling towards the season. This weekend we played our weakest game of preseason. But with a 3-0 win over Forbes we finished another good week. I'm looking forward to the last week of preseason. First the game against UD on Tuesday and on Saturday our home opener against Pittsburgh. I believe that we still have plenty of things that can improve, but also that we are ready for the USL season opener coming Saturday."
