DDL FC set to host Phoenix FC Wolves

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC will play host to the Phoenix FC Wolves on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 PM. After starting the season with two consecutive wins, the Dutch Lions dropped the next two matches. Dayton will be looking to take advantage of the home field and rebound against the Wolves, one of two expansion teams to join USL PRO in 2013.

Phoenix lost Thursday to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-1 and is still without a win on the road. The expansion side will be hungry to pick up points against DDL FC. A win of the Lions however will make them jump over Phoenix in the standings and stay in the aimed play off spots.

This will be the second time in as many weeks that the Dutch Lions will host a team playing with only one day’s rest between contests. A first-half penalty kick was all that the road weary Charleston Battery needed to edge past Dayton last week. The Dutch Lions, though, are confident that they have what it takes to start achieving positive results again.

“We have the tactical philosophy to win every game,” said Shintaro Harada, a veteran defender for the Dutch Lions. “All we have to do is execute.

Dayton currently sits one spot behind Phoenix in the USL PRO table, but may have the opportunity to surpass the Wolves on Saturday at Beavercreek High School. Tickets for the game are available through www.ticketfly.com.
