FC Twente Dutch Lions FC Clinic May 27

Dayton, April 28 2013 – Due to it’s partnership the Dayton Dutch Lions FC are organizing a special Soccer Clinic given by John van Miert and Gerhard Wermink of FC Twente on May 27 from 1.30-5pm at Miami Valley School. John van Miert is FC Twente’s Manager Youth Academy and Gerhard Wermink is Coordinator U6-U12. The FC Twente Youth Academy is considered one of the top academy’s in Europe.


President Mike Mossel commented on the Clinic: “it is great to give the local soccer community in Dayton a chance to learn from the best. Not just players (like Dutch National Player Bryan Roy last year) but also the best coaches. Besides the Soccer Clinic for kids, their visit to Dayton (and Houston) will also give us a chance to discuss our current academy set up as far as organization and coaching philosophy with all our staff so our players can benefit from this the coming year(s). We will also offer local coaches a Coaches Clinic on May 27 in the morning (9am-12.30pm) and hope to see a lot of people attend to also built our relationship with other clubs, coaches and players in the region.”

    DDL Soccer Complex

    All practices and games of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men’s team (USL PDL) and Women’s team (USL W-League) will be at the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Soccer Complex in West Carrollton. The stadium seats 3500 people. In 2014 the Dayton Dutch Lions FC and Dayton Outpatient Center (DOC) installed an new artificial turf field in the stadium. DOC Stadium was opened in May 2014 when former 2x “FIFA Best Player in the World” Ruud Gullit kicked off the game against LA Galaxy II in the USL PRO League.
