Dayton Hopes to Celebrate July 4 with Victory over Rochester Game Time Rescheduled for 1:00 PM

Thursday June 6, 2013

DAYTON, Ohio – When the Rochester Rhinos come to Dayton on Independence Day, the Dutch Lions hope to get the fireworks going in the mid-afternoon in the form of goals. First kick has been rescheduled for 1:00 PM at Beavercreek High School.

Although this is the first time that the Dutch Lions and the Rhinos will meet in 2013, there is plenty of familiarity between the teams. Dayton faced Rochester three times last season, managing to earn two draws and one defeat against the Rhinos club that finished second in the USL PRO regular season standings.

Dayton’s strong start to the season has them poised to make a second-half run to the playoffs. A stiff defense has kept the Dutch Lions in games, and the addition of talent to the attack has provided the lift that was needed to secure victories.

The Rhinos have struggled to get positive results this season, particularly on the road. The Dutch Lions, though, will not be taking them lightly. There are a number of talented players on the Rochester roster, and interim head coach Pat Ercoli will have them ready to play.

For soccer fans, taking in the match between the Dayton Dutch Lions and the Rochester Rhinos will be an entertaining addition to a Fourth of July celebration.
