Last Tuesday, June 4th, the Dayton Dutch Lions held their end of season parent meeting. During this meeting a lot of different things were discussed but the Youth Academy Awards, sponsored by Ilovestroofwafels.com, was the highlight of the evening.
At the auditorium of the Holiday Elementary, in Moraine, 250 academy players and parents came to the meeting and listened to Sid van Druenen, the club's technical manager, who was the host of the night.
Topics as the Men's and Women's team, Youth tournament, Camps, Clinics and off course the youth academy were openly discussed and some new ideas were presented.
Some of the guest speakers were Patrick Bal, Men's Head Coach; Dave Ulring from DL TV; Jennifer Smith from Ilovestroopwafels.com and John Beard from College Prospects of America, a new partnership that the club created to help our high school athletes with their way to college.
The evening ended with the presentation of the Youth Academy Awards, presented by Eddie Hertsenberg. All the nominees got a certificate and all the winners a authentic Dutch Lions professional game jersey. Congratulations to all the winners!
