Big win DDL FC Women on the road against Charlotte: 1-2

W-team takes first place in strong Division, face Carolina today


Dayton, June 16 2013 – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women’s team bounced back from a 1-0 goal by Macky Wingo of Charlotte Eagles in the 70th minute to win their first game on the road this weekend. Elizabeth Soto scored the equalizer a minute later off a Juliana Libertin cross and captain Emilie Fillion scored a big goal in the 84th minute to secure the 2nd win this season against the Lady Eagles.


The Lions are now 3-0-1 for the season and lead the Division with 10 points out of 4 games. Atlanta and Carolina also have 10 points but played two and three more games than the Lions. The team faces Carolina Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm.

    All practices and games of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men’s team (USL PDL) and Women’s team (USL W-League) will be at the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Soccer Complex in West Carrollton. The stadium seats 3500 people. In 2014 the Dayton Dutch Lions FC and Dayton Outpatient Center (DOC) installed an new artificial turf field in the stadium. DOC Stadium was opened in May 2014 when former 2x “FIFA Best Player in the World” Ruud Gullit kicked off the game against LA Galaxy II in the USL PRO League.
