DDL FC heading to Richmond

Dayton Dutch Lions FC getting ready for Richmond Kickers in 1st round of playoffs

Dayton, August 20 2013 – The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are preparing for their first ever playoff game after joining the USL Pro League only three years ago. The game will be played in Richmond against the Regular Season Champion the Richmond Kickers. game time is 7.30pm. The game will also be live on www.usllive.com and as always the staff and fans will be able to watch the game at the Dublin Pub downtown Dayton.

President Mike Mossel commented on the upcoming game: “it’s a great accomplishment not only for the team but the whole club that we qualified for the playoffs. When we joined the League our goal was to play for the top 4 positions every year in a five year time span and slowly built towards that every year. Looking at the first year (last with 12 points), the second (leaving 2 teams behind us with 22 points) and now this year (leaving 5 teams behind us with 37 points) we are right on track. Especially looking at our budget compared to the other clubs. But we also get very good feedback on our playing style and have earned the respect of all teams and fans. And although Richmond has beat us twice and has not lost a game at home this season, we strongly believe that we can beat them. We have scored 4 goals against them in 2 games. The problem was giving up goals too easily (8) and they have guys that will punish you for small mistakes. But looking at the way we played against Harrisburg and our speed up front we believe we can beat them.”
