First tryouts for 2014 USL Pro season November 9

After a successful season (with a winning record and making the play-offs for the first time in it’s three year history with USL Pro), the Dayton Dutch Lions FC has set the date for their first open player try out for the 2014 season. This session is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th, starting at 9.30am.  The Dayton Dutch Lions FC has consistently used its trials as a source for identifying new players for their Men’s USL Pro team. Players attending the trials will be assessed by the Dayton Dutch Lions FC’s coaching staff during a short training session and 11v11 games played at the turf field at The Miami Valley School located at 5151 Denise Drive, Dayton, OH 45429.

Players interested in attending the try out can find more information on the Tryouts page and in case interested, complete the online registration form available. The try-out fee for the USL Pro Team, till November 1st, is $100 and should be paid by clicking on the PayPal button on the registration page. After the 1st of November the fee will raise to $125.

Formed in 2009, the Dayton Dutch Lions FC competes in the USL Pro, one level below major league soccer in the U.S.  In addition to USL PRO, the Dutch Lions also compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, reaching the quarter-finals in the 2012 season. After a successful 2013 season where the Dayton Dutch Lions FC USL Pro team reached the championship playoffs, the club wants to build on that success and playoffs are the goal again for next season.

As in previous years the Dayton Dutch Lions FC’s coaching staff expects to select 8 to 10 players from the try outs. A great opportunity for players to show off their skills and play for a spot on the 2014 professional roster. Training in a professional environment and playing games against teams as Orlando City, Los Angeles, Richmond Kickers or the Columbus Crew is what you can expect.
