DDL FC U-16 Boys standout Michael Bisett has accepted an invitation to attend the 2014 USL Super Y-League Olympic Development Program camp at the IMG Academy in Brandenton, Florida from February 27 to March 2.
He will be placed in an intense training and competitive environment designed to identify exceptional players. Michael’s hard work and dedication from the past Super Y-League season earned him a nomination from an opposing team’s coach.
Michael Bisett currently lives in Centerville, Ohio and is a 15-year-old sophomore at CentervilleHigh School. He is about to start his second season as a goalkeeper with the Dayton Dutch Lions on the U-16 boys team.
“Dayton Dutch Lions FC are very proud that Michael has been invited to ODP Camp at the IMG Academy,” DDL FC Academy Manager and U-16 Boys Coach Eric Groenheide remarked. “It’s a great opportunity for Michael to show and prove himself as a soccer player. Also as a club it’s a good signal that players got invited for ODP. It shows that players can develop in the DDL FC Academy. Hopefully it will be a great experience for Michael and his team will benefit from his trip to Florida.”
“I want to continue to improve as a player and take what I have learned at the camp and use it to have a successful spring season with my U-16 team,” Michael Bisett added. “I see this as a chance to prove myself as a soccer player and represent the Dutch Lions to the best of my ability.”
Michael’s parents are also excited about the opportunity.
“As Michael’s parents we are proud of his nomination to the camp and hope he sees hard work and dedication makes most things attainable. We hope he takes advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.” Michael never played for a premier club until last year and it’s easy to see that his rapid development as a technical player can be attributed to the DDL FC Academy.
