Six players of the Houston Dutch Lions FC are on trial with the USL PRO club in Dayton.

Team captain Cameron Free, Javier Vazquez, Michael Stewart, Emmanuel Frias, Wessel Verhaar and David Perez are in Dayton, Ohio to train with the USL PRO club: the Dayton Dutch Lions FC.

The upcoming days for the Houston Dutch Lions FC USL PDL players will be tough. They are in practice on a higher level and want to show Head Coach Sid van Druenen that they could be a great addition to the USL PRO. If it isn’t for this year, than the players hope to show that for the 2015 season they can be of a great addition to the team.

The players will train every day in Ohio and also will visit the USL PRO game between the Dayton Dutch Lions FC and Oklahoma City Energy FC this Saturday evening. On Tuesday the players are playing a scrimmage, combined with reserve players from DDL FC’s USL PRO squad against the U23 squad of MLS club the Columbus Crew.

Dayton Dutch Lions FC USL PRO Head Coach Sid van Druenen said: ‘it is great to welcome the Houston Dutch Lions FC USL PDL players to this trial group. I’m happy to get the chance to work with them for 7 days and so far the first impressions are good. The will to win is there where they show great work effort, which is crucial for any player that wants to play professional soccer. I hope they keep up the good work that they showed today."
