Dayton, August 15, 2014 - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are excited to announce the signing of midfielder Christian Camacho and striker Keith Detelj for the remaining 2014 season. Both were requests of newly appointed coach Matt Weston to increase depth on a resurging Lions squad.
Both players have played in the USL/PDL league and have experience with European clubs. Comacho played at the pro level for Olimpia Balti FC and Sfintul Gheorghe (Moldova 1st Division). He also played for the Westchester Flames and The Long Island Rough Riders.
Detelj was a four year starter at division 1 Marist College and also played for the Wayne Fever, West Chester Flames and Long Island Rough Riders.
Coach Matt Weston is anticipating an immediate positive impact from the signings and said, “I'm excited to have landed the signatures of Detalj & Camacho. After reviewing the squad I felt the need to add pace up top which Detalj has in abundance, and the technical quality which Camacho has is going to be an asset to the engine room (midfield). Both players have just won the National Championship with the Greek Americans and are primed and ready to have an immediate impact. They look hungry for this opportunity and add much needed depth to the Dayton Dutch Lions FC squad."
Camacho and Detelj will make their debut in this Saturday’s match with Richmond in what should be a good test for the resurging and more confident Lions club.
