Dayton, August 15, 2014 - The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are traveling to Richmond to face off with the second place Richmond Kickers at City Stadium. It is another crucial game for the Lions as they continue to build momentum after bringing on new coach Matt Weston.

Since bringing on Weston, the Lions have had a 2-2 draw in Charleston and a 1-0 win in Wilmington. Both tallied much needed points for the Lions in the current standings. The confidence level and pride of the team has been on the upswing going into a tough matchup with a strong Richmond club. It will be a good test for the newly invigorated Lions club.

Coach Weston is excited about the matchup and said, “After coming off a great weekend we are full of confidence going into this weekend’s trip to Richmond. The players have really begun to buy into the system & philosophy which I trust in, and confidence is lifting every day. Adding some new faces has brought about a freshness too, and everyone is on their toes fighting for a spot in the roster. Richmond is a tough place to go at the best of times, certainly with their current record I expect a really tough contest, but I feel we are ready to go down there and get a positive result! It will certainly be a good game of football because Leigh looks to play, so really looking forward to continuing this mini-revival & putting some pride back into the DDL shirt.”

This weekend’s match will also feature the two new signees for The Dutch Lions in midfielder Christian Camacho and striker Keith Detelj. This will reinforce depth and more offense which will most likely be needed against a Richmond club that is strong on both sides of the field.

The Lions next home match is against The MLS’s Colorado Rapids Reserves on Aug. 23 at 7PM at DOC Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at www.ddlfc.com, and clicking the link at the bottom of the page.
