Dadson, Fulutudilu and Nugent bolster Dutch Lion attack
The Dayton Dutch Lions have added international experience to their squad with the signing of members from the Ghanaian, South African and Jamaican national teams. Attacking talents Florence Dadson, Ode Fulutudilu and Nugene Nugent will look to provide the firepower for Dayton during their 2015 season in the Southeastern Conference.
Dadson, a three time All-American at Robert Morris University, represented Ghana at the 2008 U-17 World Cup and 2012 U-20 World Cup, before being called up to the senior national team. In 2014 she powered the Gulf Coast Texans to the Southeastern Conference regular season title, leading the conference in scoring and points, while also collecting 2014 All-Southeastern conference honors despite missing the last three games of the regular season.
Fulutudilu comes to the Dutch Lions after spending the past year playing with the South African national team. After a distinguished career at Lee University, Ode helped Banyana Banyana to a 4th place finish in the 2014 African Women's Championship, narrowly avoiding qualification for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Nugent is a member of the Jamaican national team and was with the Reggae Girlz for their recent training camp and exhibition games in Orlando, FL. After two seasons as an NJCAA All-American at Navarro College, Nugent joined the Univeristy of Memphis for the 2013 and 2014 campaigns, having a big impact with 5 goals and 15 assists during her time with the Tigers.
"We are very familiar with the qualities of Nugene and Florence after playing against the Gulf Coast Texans last season and we learned first hand just how many problems they can cause the opposition," Head Coach Gavin MacLeod said. "I was delighted that we were able to sign them and it will be a pleasure to have them lining up for us rather than against us this summer. In addition, Ode is another great signing for us and adds to the dynamic attacking options we will have this season."
The Lions kick off the new season May 15th at 8pm vs. Braddock Road at the DOC Stadium.
