Former Dayton Dutch Lions FC Academy player, Austin Feltner, committed to playing soccer for Richmond International Academic and Soccer Academy (RIASA) located in Leeds England. He will be pursing his degree in International Sports Management while chasing his dream to play professional soccer.
Austin played for the DDL FC Academy from 2010 to 2014 and had an opportunity to train with some professional academies in Portugal, Europe in 2014. In 2015 Austin's family moved to Italy to pursue better opportunities for the family.
Austin's father had the following to say about this opportunity, "As a father, and my son's staunchest supporter, I would say that the skills and development provided by the DDL gave him the ground work necessary for him to excel. Without the dedication provided by the staff of the Dayton Dutch Lions, my son's dreams of playing professional would have been all for nothing. But because a few coaches took an interest in him and supported his dream, he is now in a position to be greatly successful, no matter the outcome."
"DDL was like a second home to me.", Austin said, "It was where I developed leadership skills, and truly learned soccer. I will now use these skills in the new challenge set before me, all in hopes of becoming a professional soccer payer. I couldn't have become the player I am today without DDL."
The Dayton Dutch Lions FC would like to wish Austin and his family the best of luck with this new challenge.
