West Carrollton, OH (May 26, 2018) The Dayton Dutch Lions FC will host a double header against two teams from the Queen City, this Saturday, May 27th. The DDL Women’s team will kick things off at 4:00 pm, with their WPSL home opener against the Cincinnati Sirens. The DDL Men’s team (2-0-0 6 points) will begin play at 7:00 pm, with their PDL match against the Cincinnati Dutch Lions (0-1-0 0 points).
Although it is early in the season, both DDL teams are focused on pushing themselves to the top of their division standings. With only one game played, the Lady Lions team is looking to establish a strong team chemistry, which will allow them to benefit from the strong talent on their roster. The men following a positive start to the PDL season are focused on replicating their early success.
Saturday will be an important test as the Cincinnati squads are natural rivals. After a loss in Columbus, the Dutch Lions Women will look to rebound and post their first points of the season. They will face off against the Cincinnati Siren, who will be coming to DOC Stadium for their opening WPSL match. For the Men’s team, they will be looking to continue the momentum they have established early in the season. The Dutch Lions go up against their counterpart from Cincinnati, who began the season with a disappointing loss at home to the West Virginia Chaos. After starting with back-to-back wins for the first time in franchise history, the Lions will fight to remain at the top of the Great Lakes division standings and earn another 3 points.
Tickets will also be available at the gate ~ $8 Adults and $5 Youth (ages 6-18), Seniors, and Veterans. Children 5 and under are always free to Lions home games. Purchasing tickets to the DDL Women’s game at 4:00 pm will provide free access to the Men’s game at 7:00 pm. For discounted group rates of 12 or more, please contact Ric Campbell at 937-902-9414.
