Royal Oaks, MI June 13, 2018 - The Dayton Dutch Lions travel north for a rematch with the Michigan Bucks. The Lions won the second game of the year with the Bucks three weeks ago 2-1. The come-from-behind win was the third consecutive season that the Lions have won the opening contest versus the Bucks. With a win tonight, Dayton would jump to the top of the Great Lakes division once again.
The much anticipated rematch between the Michigan Bucks (1-2-2, 5 PDL Points) and Dayton Dutch Lions (4-1-1, 13 PDL Points) gets underway from Royal Oak HS with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
The Lions are coming off their first loss of the season when Lansing United prevailed 3-1 this past weekend. The Bucks are fresh off a two-game road trip that ended in a 3-3 draw at West Virginia, having been unable to play against Cincinnati two days prior due to lightning.
The Lions are led by the scoring tandem of Tate Robertson (Springfield, OH/Bowling Green) who has 5 goals and 4 assists and Jackson Dietrich (Las Vegas, NV/Wright State) who has 4 goals and 2 assists. Both scored against the Bucks in the first match-up.
Both teams are dealing with players missing due to injury and others away for various reasons.
"We are pleased with our overall start to the season," shared Head Coach Dan Griest, "But we are looking to get back on the winning track asap. The Bucks are always one of the top teams in league, so it will take a great team effort on our part to come away with three points. I look for our guys to rise to the challenge and give a good showing."
