After a year off the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women’s team is back in 2019. DDL FC’s Women’s program has been very successful since its start in 2011, winning the Conference Championship twice (2013 and 2015) and also being awarded “USL Organization of the Year Award” in 2013. Several players (Emilie Fillion, Brittany Persaud, Alex Warren) of the team have gone overseas to play in Europe (the Netherlands and Germany) and Rose Lavelle, who played two years for the team (2014 and 2016), has played 21 games for the US National Team since 2017 scoring 6 goals. The schedule for the 2019 season as well as tryout dates for the team will be announced in the coming weeks!
The WPSL is in its 22nd season and is the largest women’s soccer league in the world with more than 100 clubs from coast-to-coast. WPSL rosters feature elite collegiate, post-collegiate, international and standout prep student-athletes. Many of the United States’ most accomplished women’s players have played in the WPSL, including household names such as Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, Julie Foudy and Brandi Chastain.
