USL’s honorable mention Harvey Slade returns to Men’s team for 2019 season

Dayton, March 17, 2019 - Dayton Dutch Lions FC is excited to announce the signing of Harvey Slade for the 2019 Men’s team.

Harvey was part of the championship team in 2018 and also received an all-conference honorable mention starting all his 12 games.He is currently playing for Wright State University. In the 2018 college season he played and started 19 games adding 4 assists in a record 13-3-3 season.

Dayton Dutch Lions FC interviewed Harvey Slade.

DDL FC: Where are you originally from? 

HS: I am originally from Bournemouth, England.  

DDL FC: What colleges/clubs have you played for? 

HS: I currently play for Wright State University in Dayton. In England I played club soccer for Bashley FC in the Wessex Premier League. I was also was part of the Bashley FC U19 team which won the National Youth Alliance League.

DDL FC: What position(s) do you (prefer) to play? 

HS: I prefer to play center midfield or center back.

DDL FC: What have been the highlights of your soccer career? 

HS: I have to say representing “England Colleges”. England Colleges provides a unique and exciting opportunity for talented male and female soccer players to perform an international level representing their country through domestic and international fixtures.

DDL FC: Why did you choose to play for DDL FC the upcoming season? 

HS: I played for DDL FC last season and it was very enjoyable. We had a great team and coaching staff. Plus, we also we had a very good 2018 season winning the Great Lakes Conference Championship. 

DDL FC: What are your expectations for the 2019 season? 

HS: I am expecting another successful campaign, even hoping to better last season’s success advancing even further in the national play-offs. Besides that, I hope we have a good run in the US Open Cup, which will also be very special.

“We are really excited to get Harvey back for another campaign. He played a pivotal role in our success last season, and I fully expect him to take on a huge role for us for the upcoming season. Harvey is a tremendously well-rounded player. His versatility will undoubtedly provide us many options as we look to repeat as Great Lakes Division Champions”.

Come see Harvey in action this season at DOC Stadium in West Carrollton. The opening game is May 18 with a double header with the Women’s team, when the Men play Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC in their first of four derby’s in 2019. The game starts at 7pm while the Women kick off at 4pm!
