DLFC: Where are you originally from?
AF: I was born in Germany and moved to New Zealand at the age of 8, but both my parents are from Uzbekistan.

DLFC: What colleges/clubs have you played for?
AF: I am currently a freshman at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Before coming to the United States, I played for New Zealand side Hamilton Wanderers.

DLFC: What position(s) do you (prefer) to play?
AF: Naturally I play as a left or right winger.

DLFC: What have been the highlights of your soccer career?
AF: The biggest highlight of my soccer career is winning the New Zealand National Championship for the first time in the school’s history with Hamilton Boys High School.

DLFC: Why did you choose to play for DDL FC the upcoming season?
AF: With the success Coach Griest and DDL FC had last season, I believe that the club will allow me to develop as a player and help me reach the next level of my game. I will be surrounded by elite players and coaching staff that are wanting to achieve something this upcoming season. DDL’s pathway will provide college players like myself the opportunity to showcase ourselves and help us reach the professional game.

DLFC: What are your expectations for the 2019 season?

AF: Expectations will be high at DDL FC, the environment will be competitive and professional. The coaching staff and players will be determined to achieve more this season. It will be an exciting environment which I can’t wait to be a part of coming May.

Head Coach Dan Griest commented on Frank’s signing:

"I am really excited to be able to work with Alex this summer.  Alex had a tremendous freshman season with IPFW and I believe his size, pace, and tremendous technical ability will make him extremely dangerous for us in the final third.  He is an extremely versatile player that we will be able to use in multiple roles as we look to repeat as Great Lakes Division champions for the 2019 summer”.

Come see Alex Kai Frank in action this season at DOC Stadium in West Carrollton. The opening game is May 18 with a double header with the Women’s team, when the Men play Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC in their first of four derby’s in 2019. The game starts at 7pm while the Women kick off at 4pm.
