Dayton, January 14, 2021
Dayton Dutch Lions FC today announced the appointment of Bradley Schluter as the Head Coach of the 2021 Women’s team. Schluter was also Head Coach of the 2020 Women’s team, but the team did not play due to the covid-19 pandemic. Schluter played four years for the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men’s team as well as one year for Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC. He was also coach in the youth academy.
Schluter commented on his appointment: "I am extremely excited at this new opportunity provided to me by the ownership. I look forward to working for the club that provided me my first high-level coaching and playing experience. I will make it my goal to create a competitive, enjoyable environment where players develop in their skills, knowledge and love for the game. Last year we recruited a great team but unfortunately, we could not play. Our staff will work hard to bring in some of the best local talent and produce an entertaining brand of soccer. I cannot wait to get started on what should be an incredible 2021 WPSL season.”
Sid van Druenen, Director of Soccer Operations, stated: “I am very happy to re-sign Bradley as our Head Coach for the Women’s team. I have worked with him as a player and as a youth coach, and I know he will do a great job training and coaching our Women's team. He recruited a very strong roster last year and I am looking forward to see the talent that will represent us this upcoming season."
Same as in 2020, Schluter will be assisted by Nick Kinder and Shane Smith, a four-year veteran of the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Men’s team that competed in the USL Championship (2011-2014).
Dayton Dutch Lions FC will announce the 2021 try-out date for the Women’s team in the coming weeks. You can find more information on www.ddlfc.com and follow the club on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. For more information, please send an e-mail to s.vandruenen@ddlfc.com.
