DDL FC weekend games

The Dayton Dutch Lions took to the road, on Saturday, to battle the Cleveland Force. Prestin Manthey sent a pass to Rashid Seidu-Aroza and slid past the defense and shot the ball past the Force Goalkeeper and it was 1-0 Dayton in the 35th minute. That would be the score at the half.

The lead would not hold up as a Cleveland shot bounced off the goalpost and right onto the foot of Cole Wirthmuller and the match was tied in the 55th minute.

It would stay that way until in extra time when Dayton had a corner kick from the far side and it looked as though Dayton had found the back of the goal only to have the goal waved off by the referee. In which he signaled that the match was over. Thus taking a goal away from Dayton and the final score 1-1.

On Sunday the Dutch Lions welcomed  Fort Wayne FC who are fighting for a spot in the playoffs and needed to beat the Dutch Lions on Sunday and the Cleveland Force next Saturday to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Max Amoako scored 2 goals, one in each half, to lead Fort Wayne FC to a 5-0 win over the Dutch Lions. Riley Lynch put Fort Wayne on the board in the 25th minute, and that opened up the flood gate for Fort Wayne.

Victor Claudel, in the 34th minute and Amoako in the 39th minute put Fort Wayne up 3-0 at the half.

Alberto Anaya and Amoako would close out the scoring just a minute apart and the final score would end up 5-0 Fort Wayne.

The Dutch Lions will close out the season with 3 more matches in 4 days.

First up will be the final home match of the year when they host Toledo Villa at 7 pm at DOC Stadium.

Then they close out the regular season on the road at Kings Hammer on Friday and at South Bend on Saturday.
