The Development Academy soccer calendar consists of two seasons: the Fall and Spring. The Fall typically starts during the second week of August and lasts until the first week of November.
The Fall typically starts during the second week of August and lasts until the first week of November. The Spring season starts the first week in March and lasts until the third week of May. Development teams can choose to also practice and play indoor in the Winter season if they like. Winter training and indoor fees are not included in the annual academy fee.
Dutch Lions FC teams will be applying to participate in the Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association or Buckey Premier Youth Soccer League. Each team, if accepted, will play in a division that is developmentally appropriate. League and referee fees are included in the annual academy fee.
Teams practice two times a week during the Fall and Spring season. During the winter all teams have two activities scheduled.
Coaches will have an UEFA C or D coaching license (with the exception of the Junior Academy coaches) or professional playing experience and in the process of obtaining that license.
The Player Development Plan is the program the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Academy uses to help players meet their development goals. An individual plan is developed to give each player more insight in their current level and improvement points. Players in the Development Academy will have two annual player coach evaluations to talk about the player development plan, one in the Fall and one in the Spring season
There will be two nights of video analysis of games throughout the year at the office of the Dutch Lions FC, for all teams. The players will be able to see themselves play, see what they do well, and what they should improve. The Dayton Dutch Lions FC coaches are all trained to organize video analysis sessions with the team, a group of players (only defenders for example), or with players individually

The fees for the Development Academy include all training sessions listed below, games, Fall and Spring League fees, referee fees and two season tickets for all the Men's and Women's team games. The fees do not include additional training sessions, tournament fees, indoor fees and gear fees*
*in case you already play for DDL you can keep the practice gear if it is in good shape and only buy the new game jerseys
Fall + Spring:
- 2 Training Sessions per Week
- 8 League Games (per season)
- 1 Individual Player Evaluation meeting between Player and Coach (per season)
- 1 Individual Parent/Coach Meeting (per season)
- Participation in DL CUP Fall Edition and Spring Edition
